The Catawba Crossings Online Open House is now open! Please visit the Catawba Crossings Online Open House platform to review information about the Catawba Crossings Feasibility Study and provide your feedback. Public comments will be accepted through February 13, 2022.

In addition to the Online Open House, an informal Public Meeting Open House will be held at Gaston College-Kimbrell Campus Auditorium (7220 Wilkinson Boulevard, Belmont, NC)  on Wednesday, February 2, 2022. You may drop in anytime between 4:30 and 7:30 PM to review conceptual designs and project information. Representatives from the project team will be present to answer questions and collect public comments.

Catawba Crossings

The Catawba Crossings Project will evaluate the feasibility of a new alignment roadway between NC 279 (S. New Hope Road) in southeastern Gaston County to NC 160 (Steele Creek Road) in western Mecklenburg County. The Project includes two new bridges over the South Fork Catawba River and Catawba River (Lake Wylie) and a new interchange with I-485 south of the West Boulevard interchange. The Project is an important component of the region’s future transportation system.
